Biography
Arin has completed a B.A. with an Honours in English Literature and a Major in Liberal Arts, which focuses on Western religion, art, science, philosophy and literature; and an M.A. in English Literature, thesis option (1995 and 2000, Concordia University, Montreal). Independent study has also led her to read tremendous amounts of material on history, linguistics, world cultures, religion and theology.
Research alone does not an expert make: hands-on experience is required for a fuller understanding of the world. Arin has worked within the book industry for over seventeen years, specifically within niche markets such as children's literature, speculative fiction, and esotericism. These experiences give her a unique insight into the publishing business. As of 2002 she has focused on her career as a freelance editor and writer. 2005 saw the publication of two of her books, Power Spellcraft for Life and Solitary Wicca for Life, followed in 2006 by The Way of the Green Witch. Her third book, Passages: Pagan Pregnancy (A Spiritual Journey From Maiden to Mother), will be released in August 2008, and her fifth book is tentatively scheduled for spring 2009. Apart from her three books she has published a number of articles in print and on-line periodicals on several subjects, as well as creating educational material for her own classes and workshops.
In 2003 Arin helped develop the Provenance Press imprint for Adams Media, and now operates as a contracted consultant for the imprint. She currently serves as the series editor for two ongoing series of books published by Provenance Press, the For Life series and the Passages series. She has performed tech reads, evaluations, substantive edits, and rewritten scripts for various private clients, among other tasks. She takes pride in what she does, communicates and works in a professional fashion, and enjoys meeting and working with new clients.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing creative fiction, doing needlepoint and embroidery, listening to music of many kinds, playing the cello, and spending time with her husband and son.
